There are weddings that feel effortlessly beautiful from beginning to end and Seona and Michael’s spring wedding in Seville was exactly that.
A heartfelt Scottish celebration set in the magic of southern Spain, their wedding day brought together timeless elegance, meaningful tradition, and the vibrant beauty of Andalusia in spring. As a Seville wedding photographer working across Spain, these are the kinds of destination weddings I absolutely love to document: emotional, stylish, deeply personal, and filled with unforgettable atmosphere.
Today I’m sharing a preview of the first images delivered from their wedding day — a beautiful story captured in both digital and analogue photography.
A Scottish Destination Wedding in Seville
Seona and Michael travelled from Scotland to celebrate their destination wedding in one of the most romantic cities in Europe. Spring in Seville is always something special: warm light, blooming flowers, orange blossom in the air, and that unmistakable Andalusian charm that makes every celebration feel cinematic.
For couples planning a wedding in southern Spain, Seville offers a perfect balance of history, elegance, and vibrant energy. It’s no surprise that so many international couples choose this city for their destination wedding in Spain.
If you are currently searching for a Sevilla wedding photographer, or dreaming of a destination wedding in Seville, Malaga or Cadiz, this day is such a beautiful example of how magical a spring celebration in Andalusia can be.
Getting Ready at Hotel Fernando III in Seville
The day began in the heart of the city at Hotel Fernando III, where both Seona and Michael got ready surrounded by their closest people.
There was such a calm and joyful energy during the preparations — the kind of atmosphere every photographer hopes for. Those quiet moments before the ceremony, the excitement building, the final touches, the emotions between family and friends… all of it created the perfect beginning to the day.
As a film photographer in Spain, these moments are always especially beautiful to capture on film. There is something about analogue photography that elevates wedding mornings in such a timeless and emotional way — the softness, the texture, the subtle imperfection that feels so human and real.
A Religious Ceremony at Monasterio del Loreto
Their religious ceremony took place at the stunning Monasterio del Loreto. Historic, elegant and full of soul, Monasterio del Loreto is a dream setting for couples who want a wedding ceremony with character. The architecture, the light, and the emotion of the ceremony made this part of the day incredibly special.
Couple Portraits, Cocktail Hour and Party at Bella Sombra
After the ceremony, we headed to Bella Sombra, where the rest of the celebration unfolded.
We started with Seona and Michael’s couple session, making the most of the spring light and the beautiful surroundings of the venue. Their portraits felt natural, elegant and full of connection — exactly the kind of images I always aim to create: timeless photographs that feel both editorial and deeply emotional.
The cocktail hour at Bella Sombra was full of life, laughter and beautiful details. Guests enjoyed the warm atmosphere while the incredibly talented team from Bodas Dibujadas created live watercolour portraits — such a unique and memorable touch that added artistry and personality to the celebration.
From there, the wedding continued into dinner and a joyful party that carried the energy of the day all the way through the night.
The Creative Team Behind This Beautiful Seville Wedding
A wedding like this is always the result of an incredible team coming together, and Seona and Michael were surrounded by some truly talented professionals.
The day was beautifully planned by María and José from Quesebesen, whose work brought everything together so seamlessly. Their vision, organisation and attention to detail created a celebration that felt elegant, warm and effortless from start to finish.
The catering was by Antonio Bort, delivering an experience that guests will remember long after the wedding day.
Seona’s makeup was by Silvia Freire, who created a look that felt fresh, radiant and perfectly suited to the elegance of the day.
And the flowers… I’m still not over them. The floral artistry by Le Boyerd was breathtaking. I completely fell in love with the daffodils — bold, joyful, and so perfect for a spring wedding in Seville. Floral design has such a powerful effect on the mood of a wedding, and these flowers brought colour, texture and personality in the most beautiful way.
The sound and DJ set for the event was handled by Evenson, keeping the celebration flowing beautifully from cocktail hour into the party.
And then there was the cake — an absolute work of art by Aquarela Cakes. It couldn’t have been more beautiful, and it was one of those details that perfectly reflected the refined yet artistic style of the whole wedding.
For video, I had the pleasure of working alongside the team at Enlazarte, and as always, it was such a joy. Collaborating with talented, kind and professional creatives always makes the day even more special, and they are always a pleasure to work with.
Digital and Analogue Wedding Photography in Spain
I documented Seona and Michael’s wedding in both digital and analogue photography, something that is deeply important to the way I tell wedding stories.
Combining digital with film allows me to preserve a wedding day with both clarity and emotion. Digital photography captures the fast pace and spontaneity of the day, while film photography brings softness, depth and a timeless quality that feels incredibly special.
For couples looking for a film photographer for their destination wedding in Spain, or for those drawn to a more editorial, artistic and nostalgic aesthetic, working with a photographer who offers both digital and analogue photographycan create a gallery that feels richer, more emotional, and truly unique.
As a Seville wedding photographer and destination photographer working across Spain and Europe, including Malaga, Cadiz, and beyond, I love creating wedding galleries that feel elegant, honest and full of atmosphere — images that don’t just show how your day looked, but how it felt.
